OUR HISTORY

It was July 1863 when Alessandro Martini, Teofilo Sola and Luigi Rossi founded Martini & Rossi in Turin, then-capital of the newborn Kingdom of Italy. A few months later they chose Pessione, a small hamlet not far from the city, to establish the production plant. Thus began the story of MARTINI, one of the most famous Italian brands in the world, which has grown through hard work, vision, quality and innovative communication campaigns.

1847 – THE START OF A GREAT PARTNERSHIP

The Michel, Re, Agnelli e Baudino distillery was founded in Turin. Few years later Alessandro Martini and Teofilo Sola were hired.

1863 – THE PERFECT COMBINATION

Alessandro Martini and Teofilo Sola took over the distillery and launched MARTINI, Sola e C.ia. They invited Luigi Rossi to become a partner. Thanks to his brilliant expertise, Luigi created a perfect vermouth recipe: the MARTINI Rosso.
